Once a Himalayan kingdom and now a state of India, Sikkim is nestled between Bhutan and Nepal. A lush paradise of greenery with magnificent trekking and mountain views, here lies the mighty Kanchenjunga, the third tallest peak in the world. Found here are nearly 4000 varieties of plants including some 600 varieties of Orchids and Rhododendrons.

Gangtok, is the capital of Sikkim, situated at an altitude of 5,800ft. which delightful blend of turquoise roof bottoms in the shape of pagoda style, lively Bazzar in the centre surrounded by hills harmoniously blended into the centre surrounded by hills harmoniously blended into the serenity of the distance and with the majestic Kanchenjunga looming in the horizon to provide it a magnificent view.

A visit to Darjeeling can be combined with Sikkim trip. Darjeeling, situated at an elevation of 7,000ft. was developed as a summer resort for the British Empires civil servants. It is a quaint mixture of the grandeur a British architecture and pot pourri of diverse local flavors. It is home to the famous Darjeeling tea

Entry Formalities

All foreigner intending to visit Sikkim must hold Indian visa and Sikkim inner-line permit which is issued by all Indian mission aboard for 15 days, a Sikkim permit can be obtain at New Delhi, Calcutta, Siliguri and Darjeeling, an extension of 10 days which can be made at Gangtok.

By air: Bagdogra is the nearest airport 124 km from Gangtok. Indian Airlines and Jet airways operate flights from New Delhi and Calcutta.from Nepal Biratnagar and Bhadrapur are the nearest airports to the border town Kakarvitta, which is 154 km from the capital town Gangtok.
